I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with children and families.
It is a joy and an honor to join with children and parents; to hear their stories, and help them to overcome their challenges. I love partnering with parents to find solutions for their biggest struggles.
As a mother of three, I do my best to practice the strategies I teach with my own children, and while I do see the fruits of that labor, I will also be the first to admit that I am challenged on a daily basis! While parenting is extremely humbling (and oh, so exhausting!), I also see it as a place where one has the opportunity to experience profound growth.
In my little pockets of spare time, I can be found reading, exercising, spending time with friends, listening to podcasts, thrift shopping, and am currently trying my hand at both knitting and crocheting.
I come to my work with clients from a place of empathy, compassion, and above all - absolute imperfection. My approach is rooted in mindfulness, playfulness, and compassion. I will be the first to admit my mistakes and will encourage you to provide yourself with loads of compassion.
Anything that's human is mentionable, and anything that's mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary..." -Fred Rogers
