I began my journey to becoming a child therapist many years ago. Considering a career in early childhood education, I began working at a childcare center. I fell in love with working with infants and children, and I began learning all I could in order to support their growth and development. It was then I realized the importance of the parent-child relationship, the value of positive discipline, and the power of play.
Continuing on my journey, I studied social work and worked for several different non-profit agencies. I worked with military families at Camp Pendleton and Miramar for the New Parent Support Program. My experience provided me the opportunity to work with children and families from all different backgrounds throughout San Diego County.
I am currently the Secretary for the San Diego Chapter of the California Association for Play Therapy. I also volunteer for the Postpartum Health Alliance.
